As of this time Catskill Central School District will be closing their buildings for a minimum of 24 hrs. Here is a letter for Dr. Cook Superintendent at Catskill Central School District:
At this time, we have no confirmed cases or exposure that we are aware of at the school or within the community. However, in compliance with the Governor’s directive, Catskill Central School District will close all buildings for a minimum of 24 hours should a confirmed case of a student and/or staff member be identified. We will evaluate each situation on a case by case basis under the guidance of the Department of Health, the Center for Disease Control, the State Education Department, and the Questar III BOCES Health & Safety Office when determining next steps.
All extracurricular activities, including field trips, are continuing as planned. However, we will closely monitor this and evaluate each one on a case by case basis.
We encourage everyone to continue to use Universal Safety Precautions, as outlined in my previous letter. If you or a family member begin showing symptoms of a respiratory disease and suspect it may be COVID-19, please stay home and contact your healthcare provider. In addition, New York has established a Novel Coronavirus Hotline, which can provide additional information. Call 1-888-364-3065 with questions or concerns about travel and symptoms. The District will continue to share information as it becomes available.
As always, the health and safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we will remain vigilant in our efforts to help prevent the spread of this illness.
