Drag Queen Story Hour
Saturday, June 8 at 11am
Drag Queen Story Hour is just what it sounds like: local drag queens reading stories to children. Created by Michelle Tea and RADAR Productions in San Francisco, DGSH now happens around the world! Drag Queen Story Hour captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity in childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, and where dress-up is real. Our Library’s DQSH will be hosted by Noelle Diamond, who is a whimsical and energetic drag performer in the Albany area.
Sunday, June 9 at 4pm
At the Stuyvesant Town Hall
Gather with fellow cooks and friends for a meal, while exploring a new cookbook; this quarter’s featured title will be Cravings: Hungry for More by Chrissy Teigen, and one lucky attendee will win their very own copy! Registration is required for this event. Please stop by the library or call 758-6192 for more information and to sign up.
