CATSKILLS...HELDERBERGS...GREATER CAPITAL REGION...CENTRAL AND
NORTHERN TACONICS...AND BERKSHIRES.
* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW...SLEET...AND FREEZING RAIN.
* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 3
INCHES WITH THE HIGHER TOTALS OVER THE MOUNTAINS.
* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...GENERALLY A COATING TO A TENTH OF AN INCH
WITH ONE TO TWO TENTHS IN THE BERKSHIRES.
* TIMING...SNOW AND SLEET INITIALLY OVERSPREAD THE ADVISORY AREA
FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST DURING THE TUESDAY MORNING
COMMUTE. THE SNOW AND SLEET WILL TRANSITION TO SLEET AND
FREEZING RAIN BY THE LATE MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON...AND
EVENTUALLY ALL TO PLAIN RAIN BY THE MID AFTERNOON INTO THE
EARLY EVENING.
* IMPACTS...ROADWAYS WILL BE BECOME ICE AND SNOW COVERED. OTHER
UNTREATED SURFACES WILL BE VERY SLIPPERY AND TREACHEROUS.
ISOLATED POWER OUTAGES ARE POSSIBLE WHERE THE HEAVIER ICE
ACCRETIONS OCCUR.
* WINDS...EAST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH OVER THE
MOUNTAINS.
* TEMPERATURES...IN THE UPPER 20S TO LOWER 30S.
