Saugerties man runs over three pedestrians

Charges:  4 UTT’s (Reckless Driving, Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, Failure to Keep Right, Failure to use Designated Lane), Unlawful Possession of  Marihuana for operator Mykel Binder and one Unlawful Possession of  Marihuana for passenger Elijah Pineiro-Zucker  age 17, resides at 109 Cottontail Lane, Saugerties

Location of Incident:  Glasco Turnpike and Dutchtown Road

Person Charged:  Mykel R. Binder

Charged Person’s Age:  18 

Address of Person Charged:  35 Country Club Drive, Mount Marion NY 12456

Narrative of What Occurred:

On February 11, 2017 at 2:57pm Saugerties Police respond to the area of Glasco Turnpike and Dutchtown Road for a report of a car versus pedestrians.  Upon investigation, it was determined that operator Mykel Binder was traveling westbound on Glasco Turnpike at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle, subsequently striking three pedestrians that were off the roadway on the eastbound shoulder.

Valerie Kissing age 28, of Brooklyn, Alexandra Katharina age 31, of Brooklyn, and Jasmine Foerj  age 31, of Queens Village, NY were all transported to Kingston’s Health Alliance Hospital by Diaz Ambulance.  Katharina had a complaint of leg injury and Foerj had a complaint of a back injury. Kissingm was also transported by ambulance.

 

Binder was ticketed for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana in addition to his traffic summons, returnable to Saugerties Town Court on February 22, 2017.
