* Lawrence W. Godwin Jr., 33 of Copake, was arrested at 3:35am February 15 and charged with two counts of Assault in the Third Degree and three counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Both Class A Misdemeanors) by First Sergeant John Rivero and Deputy Patrick McMahon. Godwin Jr. is accused of causing physical injury to a male and female at a private residence in the Town of Copake. This altercation took place in the presence of a child. He was arraigned in Copake Town Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court on February 27.
