Capital District duo arrested for felony cocaine possession

PRESS RELEASENew Baltimore, NY – On February 27, 2017, at approximately 9:26 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 for traveling 88 mph in a posted 65 mph zone. The driver of the vehicle, Arnold M. Howard, 32, of Rexford, NY, and his passenger, Gloria N. Rodriguez, 29, of Schenectady, NY, were found to be in possession and packed for sale more than 1 kilogram of cocaine, marijuana, MDMA*, hash oil, and brass knuckles. Howard and Rodriguez were taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Albany.Howard was subsequently charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree; a Class A-1 Felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree: Intent to Sell; a Class B Felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree; a Class C Felony
- Vehicle and Traffic Violations
Rodriguez was subsequently charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 1st Degree; a Class A-1 Felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree: Intent to Sell; a Class B Felony
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree; a Class A Misdemeanor
- Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 5th Degree; a Class B Misdemeanor
Both subjects were arraigned before the Town of New Baltimore Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail without bail.*MDMA is commonly known as Ecstasy or Molly. MDMA is a psychoactive drug primarily used for its euphoric effects.
