Chatham woman charged with Assault following domestic dispute

PRESS RELEASE

Chatham, New York - On March 1, 2017, New York State Police from Livingston arrested Erin L. Cmuchowski, 23 years old, of Chatham, NY, for Assault in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched to Columbia Memorial Hospital Emergency Room to investigate an assault. An investigation indicated that Cmuchowski stabbed the victim with a steak knife at a residence located in the Village of Chatham subsequent to a domestic dispute. 

The victim was treated for two puncture wounds and released.Cmuchowski was arraigned before Village Justice Dan Brackett and remanded to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond. Cmuchowski is scheduled to return to Chatham Court on March 7, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.
