Catskill ice rescue ends on a sad note

Catskill Fire Department was called to the Catskill Creek, across from Catskill high School this morning, by Catskill Police, after a deer was found to have broken through the ice, and was trapped in the water, unable to get out. Catskill firemen entered the water and were able to get the deer back on land. Then it was discovered the deer had broken it's leg while it was attempting to get out of the creek. Sadly, the deer had to be put down. More details and pictures here:
