Rasheem Cotman was sentenced today in Columbia County Court to the maximum he could get, 2 to 4 years in prison. He plead guilty last December to a charge of Concealment of a human corpse. That charge was for dumping the body of Halle Schmidt in a wooded area off Old Post Road in Kinderhook last September. We're told that Judge Nichols told Cotman that if he could, he would have sentenced him to more time, but this was the maximum he could be sentenced for by law.
