from Columbia Greene Humane Society:
For Immediate release
Patty, a VERY special cat in need of a VERY special home.
Patty is a 1-year-old long-haired tortoiseshell that came to the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA from an owner that could not afford her anymore. When Patty was surrendered to the shelter, she was immediately examined by CGHS/SPCA staff and it was found that Patty had a dire medical situation that needed to be addressed immediately. Patty had already lost one eye due to an untreated illness. Her remaining eye was terribly infected from an untreated injury, resulting in little to no sight.
She was rushed to CGHS/SPCA Medical Director Dr. Jerry Bilinski, where she was cautiously examined. It was found necessary to remove her other eye, resulting in her complete blindness. Had Patty been brought to CGHS/SPCA sooner, some or all of her sight may have been saved. Patty’s medical expenses and adoption fee has been sponsored with a donation from a CGHS/SPCA volunteer.
Patty is an extremely sweet cat in need of a special home that is willing to work with her disability. For more information, please call the Columbia-Greene Humane Society/SPCA at (518) 828-6044, or visit our website at cghs.org.
