THE VILLAGE OF ATHENS HAS A NEW MAYOR.PETER ALBERTI DEFEATED CATHERINE CENSOR IN TUESDAY'S ELECTION. ALBERTI REPLACES CURRENT MAYOR CHRIS PFISTER, WHO IS STEPPING DOWN. THE RACE TO FILL TWO VILLAGE BOARD SEATS IS TOO CLOSE TO CALL AND WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE ABSENTEE BALLOTS.
IN CATSKILL, JOSEPH KOZLOSKI HAS WON BACK A SEAT ON THE VILLAGE BOARD. A SEAT THAT HE LOST IN 2014.
MARK EVANS WON ANOTHER TERM AS MAYOR IN COXSACKIE, WITH A VICTORY OVER CHALLENGER SAL BEVILACQUA. STEPHEN HANSE AND DONALD DAOUST WON THE TWO SEATS ON THE VILLAGE BOARD.
IN TANNERSVILLE, THE TWO WINNERS FOR VILLAGE BOARD SEATS WERE DAVE KASHMAN AND GREGORY LANDERS.THE MAYOR'S RACE WAS UNCHALLENGED.
THERE WERE NO CONTESTED RACES IN HUNTER, CHATHAM, VALATIE, PHILMONT,OR KINDERHOOK.
