Valatie man, who stole from bank accounts, going to prison

38 year old Richard Cutler of Valatie is going to prison for 2 to 4 years, for stealing from bank accounts of another village resident. He was arrested by State Police last August and Plead guilty in February in Columbia County Court. Cutler will also have to pay back $8,667.30 in restitution and court costs.

Valatie man charged with Grand Larceny

PRESS RELEASE

Kinderhook, New York – On August 27, 2016, New York State Police from the Livingston barracks arrested 37-year-old Richard C. Cutler of Valatie, New York, for Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony. On July 27, 2016, State Police were contacted by a Valatie resident to investigate the larceny of over $1,000 from their personal and business bank accounts. A subsequent investigation revealed that Cutler had stolen money from the complainants by unlawfully cashing checks drawn on the victim’s bank accounts.Cutler was arraigned in the Town of Stuyvesant Justice Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
