Ten fire companies were on the scene of an out of control brush fire Friday afternoon in Old Chatham. Units were called to 723 County Route 13 just before 2pm. The Fire had spread to a barn and a tractor. Arriving firefighters went to work on the barn, saving the structure. Firemen were on the scene for close to two and a half hours. There were no reported injuries. The companies involved were: Tri-Village, Chatham, East Chatham, Austerlitz, Canaan, Lebanon Valley, North Chatham, Niverville, Red Rock, and Tsatsawassa from Rensselaer County. Encon officers were also requested to the scene.
