Catskill man charged with tampering with evidence

Person Charged: Jason M. Legg 30 years of Age

Resides: 37 Day Street Catskill NY

Charges: Felony – Tampering with Physical Evidence; Misdemeanor- Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Needle; Violation – Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

Arraigned: Arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in Lieu of $1,000 Bail.

Narrative:

On April 15, 2017 at 5:20pm, Saugerties Police arrested Jason M. Legg incidental to a field interview on State Route 32 in the Town of Saugerties. During the field contact with an officer, Legg attempted to discard seven Hypodermic Needles he had on his person. Incidental to arrest Legg was further found to be in possession of Marihuana.

Legg was processed at police headquarters and arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Court on the Felony of Tampering with Physical Evidence, the Misdemeanor of Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Needle and the Violation of Unlawful Possession of Marihuana. Legg was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in Lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
