PRESS RELEASE

Claverack, New York – On April 17, 2017, New York State Police from the Livingston Barracks arrested Jason L. Calderon, 26 years old, of Philmont, New York, for Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a Class C Felony.

At approximately 10:26 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to a report of a burglary in the Town of Claverack.  The caller reported someone forced entry to his residence and rummaged through his medicine cabinet. Arriving Troopers observed forced entry, where someone had cut out the screen to a window and broke into the residence. Upon entering the residence it was apparent that the subject was looking for prescription medications.

The investigation by State Police revealed Jason L. Calderon was the suspect that forced his way into the residence.

Calderon was charged by the State Police and arraigned by the Honorable Michael Brandon at the Town of Claverack Court. He was remanded to Columbia County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 security bond. He was directed to reappear in the Town of Claverack Court on May 16, 2017 at 6 p.m.
