Hudson man accused of dousing home with gasoline

NYS Parolee Arrested for Reckless Endangerment

On April 28, 2017, the Hudson City Police Department arrested 46 year old, James Tynan of Hudson, New York on Reckless Endangerment 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a controlled substance 7th Degree, both class A Misdemeanors.

On April 28, 2017, at approximately 5:23 am, the City of Hudson Police Department received a call from Columbia County 911 reporting that they had a female on the line who stated that there was a man pouring gasoline inside and outside of home located at 68 Harry Howard Ave. The Hudson City Police responded to the scene and the Hudson City fire department staged in the area. Tynan owns the home and shares it with several people.

According to witnesses, James Tynan got into a verbal argument with one of his roommates and become upset when nobody would leave his house. Tynan left the house and came back inside with a can of gasoline. He poured the gasoline inside and outside the house while holding a lighter. Patrols responded and arrested Tyan without further incident. The scene was processed by Detectives and evidence was collected.

After his arrest, James Tynan was found to be in possession drugs (crack cocaine). James Tynan is also currently on New York State Parole. After this incident, a Parole Warrant was issued for his arrest (violation of Parole). Tynan had been convicted in June 2011 for DWI and had served his sentence.

As of this writing Tynan is awaiting arraignment in Hudson City Court.
