Philmont teen set to go to trial on Child Porn Charges

On May 1, 2017, Adam Layton was charged in County Court by Superior Court Information with two Counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, Honorable Richard M. Koweek presiding.

The Court scheduled a trial for January 16, 2018. The New York State Police investigated this matter and arrested Adam Layton. The Public Defender represents Adam Layton.

Adam Layton is presumed to be innocent unless and until the People prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt to all twelve of twelve jurors.

PRESS RELEASE

Philmont, New York – On February 22, 2017, The New York State Police from Livingston arrested 16-year-old Adam J. Layton, of Philmont, New York, for Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class E Felony.Layton was arrested following an investigation conducted by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. 

The defendant was found to possess pornographic images depicting children.Layton arraigned before Judge Brandon in the Town of Claverack Court and released on his own recognizance. ICAC is a multiagency task force that combats the sexual exploitation of children via the internet.
