From Channel 10, Trishna Begam:
Trishna Begam joined the NEWS10 team in September 2012 as a multi-media journalist. She is thrilled to call Albany her new hometown and looks forward to covering the news that matters to you.
Before moving to the Capital Region, Trishna worked at WRDW News 12 in Augusta, Georgia (home of the Masters). For two years in Augusta she woke up bright and early for the morning news. Along with reporting breaking news, covering the school district and medical stories, Trishna also tackled in-depth topics, through stories like “Inside the Mind of a Bully” and “The HCG Diet Drug Controversy.”
Her first reporting job took her to Abilene, Texas. In Abilene, she covered the crime and courts beat. Her stories included people getting cheated out of hundreds of dollars through bad business practices to Abilene’s crime rate increasing and the police department acquiring tasers.
Her reporting experience also goes back to her time as an intern at WAGA Fox 5, in Atlanta, GA. She worked alongside I-Team reporters, went undercover, and researched stories exposing fraud.
Trishna is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia, (Goooo Dawgs!) where she earned her B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. When she’s not at work, you can find Trishna spending time with her husband, Nolan, and their dog Walter, the Weimaraner.
