On February 26, 2017, the State Police responded to Four Mile Point Road in the Town of Coxsackie for a report of possible human skull. The remains were found approximately half a mile from the end of Four Mile Point Road, between the shore line and an old jeep trail.

A recent examination of the partial human skull by the Chief Medical Examiner of New York City, confirmed that the human remains are from an adult male ranging between 20 and 50 years of age.

Further DNA testing is being conducted to attempt to identify the unknown adult male.
