State Police arrest 3 after home invasion

PRESS RELEASEOn 06/02/17, The New York State Police at Catskill arrested JAKAWN HEATH, age 20 and two 17yo males, all of Catskill, N.Y. for Burglary 2nd (a class C felony).The arrests were the result of a reported home invasion that occurred in the Village of Coxsackie at about 8:05pm on 06/01/17. The occupants of the home reported that four males entered the residence and demanded property from within. After a confrontation, the four males fled the scene operating a black extended cab pick-up truck.

Shortly thereafter, a Trooper observed a vehicle matching that description travelling Southbound on St 9W towards the Village of Catskill. The Trooper turned on the vehicle at which time the vehicle drove into North Allen St. where the occupants abandoned the vehicle and fled into a wooded area on foot.

Members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and The Village of Catskill Police Department responded to assist. One subject was captured near the vehicle, a second was captured in the woods adjacent to Rt 9W and the third was captured utilizing a Sheriff’s K-9 Unit in the area of Peloke’s Motel. The fourth subject is still being sought.

Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police at 518-622-8600. HEATH and the other two defendants were arraigned before Judge Wanda Dorpfeld in the Coxsackie Court and were committed to the Greene County jail lieu of $15,000. Cash bail or $30,000 bond. The State Police were also assisted at the original scene by the Village of Coxsackie Police Department.
