Press Release – Rollover Accident on City Street
The Hudson Police Department has investigated a rollover car accident that drew considerable attention as the city was packed with people celebrating the OutHudson Pride Parade.
At about 3:15pm police were called to the scene of a personal injury car accident near the intersection of 4th and Columbia Street. They discovered a 2009 Toyota Camry taxicab registered to the Northern Cab Company, of Hudson, rolled over on its roof. The driver , Erica Snyder , 31 yrs old, of Hudson had escaped the wreck with minor cuts and scrapes. She is an employee/driver for Northern Cab Co. The accident blocked Columbia Street for about 40 minutes. The Hudson Fire Department was at the scene. Ms. Snyder was taken by the Greenport Rescue Squad to Columbia Memorial Hospital for an evaluation of her injuries.
The investigation showed that Ms. Snyder was traveling west on Columbia Street when she drifted off the right portion of road and struck the rear of a parked 2002 Chevrolet Blazer, owned by a Hudson woman launching the cab into the air and landing on its roof. The parked Blazer then rolled forward and struck the rear of a parked 2016 Range Rover owned by a company from New York City. The Blazer had rear end damage, and the Range Rover’s rear bumper was damaged.
Ms. Snyder was issued traffic tickets for failure to stay within her lane, and speed not reasonable or prudent.
