A man jumped this afternoon from the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. Greenport Fire and rescue responded just after 2 to the Columbia County Side. Multiple Police agencies are also on the scene.
Area Fire Department Dive teams have been requested to the scene.
We're told that the man jumped after noon, and was spotted jumping when the bridge reviewed it's security cameras.
Officials have located the man's body, and are awaiting the recovery.
Traffic is backed up in both directions.
