Teenager Arrested For Allegedly Bringing Homemade Bomb To Barnes & Noble

An 18-year-old from North Carolina was arrested after police say he showed up to a Barnes & Noble and started shooting customers with a pair of pellet guns. A man and a woman suffered minor injuries in the attack and were transported to a local hospital. Police took Jonathan Kyle Courtney into custody as he tried to flee the store.

Officials say that in addition to the two pellet guns, Courtney was also in possession of a homemade bomb. He is facing four counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, three counts of malicious assault in secret, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count each of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharging a barreled weapon into an occupied business and possession of a weapon of mass destruction.

Authorities have not said why Courtney decided to attack the book store.
