Catskill Firefighters were called to 13 Walnut Street this afternoon, after the porch caught fire. Quick work by residents and firefighters saved the home. Damage was contained to the outside. We have not heard of any injuries.
Just over 5 hours later, around 6:45, Catskill firemen responded to a car fire on the New York State Thruway. It was in the Northbound lanes, around mile marker 109. The car was not so lucky. It was fully involved when volunteers arrived, and is a total loss.
