Man buys new tires with stolen credit card number, gets arrested

PRESS RELEASE

On September 17, 2019, State Police in Schodack arrested, 24-year-old Austin A. Suarez of Hudson, for Grand Larceny 4th degree (E felony), Identity Theft 3rd degree (A misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification 3rd degree (A misdemeanor), and Petit Larceny (A misdemeanor).

On July 24, 2019, State Police responded to a local tire shop for a report that a customer had used a stolen credit card number to purchase tires and have them mounted on their vehicle. The individual who provided the credit card number was identified as Austin Suarez. Investigation revealed that Suarez knew the person who he had gotten the credit number from, and had obtained and used the number without their knowledge.

Suarez turned himself in at SP Schodack and was charged and processed. He was arraigned in East Greenbush Town Court and release on his own recognizance. Suarez is due back in court on October 3, 2019 at 5:30 p.m.
