Former NXIVM president Nancy Salzman is apologizing for not protecting her daughter from group leader Keith Raniere.

Salzman sent a letter to a federal judge urging leniency for Lauren Salzman, who is being sentenced later this week on racketeering and racketeering conspiracy charges. Nancy Salzman says that she's responsible for her daughter's legal troubles and called Raniere a sexual predator and narcissist. Lauren Salzman is facing nine years in prison, but federal prosecutors have pushed for a lesser sentence.
