An 18-year-old Philadelphia Eagles fan is reportedly on life support after falling off of a light pole during the massive celebration in the Philadelphia streets following the team's NFC Championship Game win and Super Bowl LIX berth Sunday (January 26) night.
The teenager, whose name wasn't released publicly, fell from a pole he climbed at the intersection of 15th and Market Streets in the Center City neighborhood and is being treated for a brain injury from head trauma at Jefferson Hospital. Several other serious incidents were reported in relation to the postgame celebrations, which included at least two people being shot, one person being stabbed and multiple officers being assaulted in separate incidents, as well as four arrests and 31 citations, the Philadelphia Police Department confirmed via the New York Post.
Eugene Dennis, 44, and Jose Moya, 32, were arrested for separate incidents in which they allegedly assaulted police officers. Tramayne Davis-Blockson, 34, was charged in connection with the stabbing of a 25-year-old man -- who was reported to be in stable condition -- near Lincoln Financial Field.
Rebekah DeShields, 26, of Narberth, was charged with aggravated assault, driving without a license, simple assault, reckless driving and other related offenses, after striking multiple people with her vehicle, which resulted in eight individuals being injured including some who sustained fractures.
The Eagles defeated the NFC East Division rival Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game and will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on February 9.
