Very bad accident in Kinderhook

Crews are on the scene of a very bad accident in the Town of Kinderhook. The crash happened just after 5pm, where a car struck a tree in front of 4 Merwin Road, just off Route 203. There are people trapped in the vehicle. Columbia County 9-1-1 is calling it Extended Extrication. A helicopter landing zone is being set up at a field on Route 203. Fire departments from Chatham and Ghent are on the scene. Valatie is at the landing zone. Valatie Rescue and the Columbia County Sheriff's office are also on Merwin Road.
