State Police in Livingston investigate fatal motor vehicle collision

Livingston, New York – On July 19, 2017 at approximately 6:50 a.m., New York State Police from the Livingston barracks were dispatched by Columbia County 911 to a three car motor vehicle collision that occurred at the intersection of State Route 9 and County Route 31.A preliminary investigation indicates that a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier was traveling eastbound on CR 31 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of State Route 9. 

The Cavalier subsequently collided with a 2017 Hyundai traveling northbound on State Route 9. The Cavalier overturned and struck a vehicle parked in the Xtra Mart gas station.The Hyundai’s operator and passenger were transported to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. An occupant of the Cavalier, a 40-year-old Hudson resident, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased by responding paramedics.
