Columbia County Fire leaves six homeless

The Red Cross is assisting six adults after fire tore through their home this morning at 1766 Jackson Corners Road in Gallatin. The call came in after 6am. Everyone got out ok, but there was a scare when a ceiling fell on two firefighters. They were reportedly not injured. Fire companies involved at the scene, and on stand-by:

Milan, Pine Plains, Livingston, Taghkanic, Red Hook, Rhinebeck, Germantown, Clermont, and Greenport.

Police were requested to the scene and the Columbia County cause and origin team is investigating.
