Palenville man charged after accident with school bus

Gagner was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court and was released on his own recognizance, scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court on 10/04/2017 at 6:30 p.m.

Narrative of What Occurred:

On 10/02/2017 at 7:26 a.m, the Saugerties Police Department responded to Route 212 and Rail Road Avenue in the Town of Saugerties for a motor vehicle crash, reported to be a vehicle verses school bus. 

Investigation by police, established that Nicholas W. Gagner was operating a 2016 Kia Solara east on Route 212 in the Town of Saugerties when he failed to observe that a school bus had stopped in front of him, striking the bus in the rear-end. 

Gagner was arrested incidental to the incident on the Misdemeanor charge of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Second Degree and the violations of Unlicensed Operator, Following Too Closely and Failing to Notify DMV of Address Change. 

Gagner was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court and was released on his own recognizance, scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court on 10/04/2017. No Injuries were reported.
