PRESS RELEASE – STABBING
Wednesday morning at 2:47am Hudson Police received a report of “blood on the floor” of the elevator at Bliss Towers, 41 North 2nd Street, Hudson. A large amount of blood was quickly discovered in the elevator and on the second floor of the high rise apartment building. HPD Communications Specialist Kinney immediately contacted local hospitals to look out for stabbing/shooting victims. At 3:51am we were contacted by the Albany Police Department that one of their officers was in the emergency room of Albany Medical Center with a 38 year old male, a Coeymans resident, the apparent victim of a stab wound. The man had injuries to his head and arm.
A thorough search was conducted at the scene by HPD uniform officers, HPD Detectives and Deputies from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Leads were developed, and Detectives arrested ELRON WILLIAMS, 44 years old, a resident of Bliss Towers.
The investigation indicates that several men and women were gathered in an apartment on the second floor of Bliss Towers and fight broke out between WILLIAMS and the victim. HPD officers and the Forensic Investigation Unit from the New York State Police are processing the scene at this time.
WILLIAMS has been charged with felony Assault, and Possession of a Weapon. He is currently being processed and is awaiting arraignment in Hudson City Court. Further charges are pending.
