Coxsackie traffic stop turns up a pound of pot

Amsterdam, NY man arrested for being in possession of a pound of Marihuana subsequent to a traffic stop.

PRESS RELEASECoxsackie, NY – On December 15, 2017, at approximately 11:26 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87, in the Town of Coxsackie for a moving violation. During the interview of the driver for the traffic violation, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. The driver Christopher J. Valentine, age 38, of Amsterdam, NY, was found to be in possession of approximately 1 pound of marijuana. Valentine was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Albany, were he was subsequently charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 2nd degree; a Class D Felony
  • Unlawful Possession of Marihuana; a Violation

Valentine was arraigned in the Town of Coxsackie Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail in lieu of $500. Cash or $1000. Bond. A return court date of December 19, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. has been set in the Town of Coxsackie Court.
