Press release on Protest arrests in Kinderhook
SHERIFF’S OFFICE RESPONDS TO CONGRESSMAN FASO’S OFFICE
Kinderhook, NY – Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports that on Monday December 18th at approximately 5:00pm, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Congressman John Faso’s District Office in the Village of Kinderhook for 5 protestors who were refusing to leave the building.
Sheriff Bartlett states, “Deputies spoke with protestors to try and avoid any arrests by just encouraging them to leave the office on their own.”
Four individuals taken into custody are local residents of Columbia County and a fifth individual is a resident of Kingston, New York.
The five protestors arrested were each charged with one count of Trespass, which is a violation. Appearance tickets were issued returnable to the Village of Kinderhook Court on February 5, 2018 at 7:00pm.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police.
