Hudson Police officer credited with saving life

Press Release – Another Overdose Victim Revived by Narcan

On Saturday February 24, 2018 at 6:45pm, Hudson police were called to an apartment on the 200 block of Columbia Street for an unconscious 43 year old woman, the apparent victim of a heroin overdose.

Sgt Shane Bower arrived at the apartment and located the woman on the bathroom floor. She was not breathing and was unresponsive. Sgt. Bower administered a single dose of NARCAN, and the woman started to gasp for air.

Greenport Rescue Squad was on the scene and quickly rendered more aid and a second dose of NARCAN. The woman became more responsive and was brought to Columbia Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

“It is my understanding that the woman has been discharged from the hospital. Great work by our Sgt. and the Greenport Rescue Squad.” Chief

**We've also heard that the officer was assisted by civilians in helping to save the woman's life. Good job done by all**
