Victims of Livingston Fire need your help

posted by Bill Williams -

The Weaver family lost everything in Wednesday's fire. So, they pretty much need everything to get back on their feet, including items for their dogs. The community is stepping up and looking for your help:

Facebook posting from Kathryn, who is helping organize the help.

I am working with Debra Jo Hughes of the Hudson Valley Academy of Performing Arts in West Taghkanic to collect items that the Weavers need as soon as possible.

The dance school is collecting all weekend and in case you miss us, Jojo s pizza can help.

7 dogs survived the fire but have no home. The family needs large dog crates, Dog food, and towels for the dog.

Since all clothing was lost, The following items would be appreciated: Men’s Medium shirts jackets, size 9 shoes, work gloves, hats. Women’s clothing size small or 6. Women’s shoe size six. Due to the cold, hats, gloves and warm items are needed.

Local merchants who could donate anything. Even a set of extra hands.. towards the cleanup and rebuild would be appreciated.

West Taghkanic is a give back community. During Hurricane Irene, George Weaver helped the dance school out when it flooded. On May 5th, the dance school will be holding a community dance fundraiser with raffle items for the Weaver farm recovery.

We are still organizing and hope we can post updates. Hannaford in Livingston also has a donation box for the Weavers set up.

The last request would be for contractor trash bags as there is so much debris to remove.

Anyone who wants to donate or volunteer should call 518 751 0207 or 518 822 7268.
