SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARRESTS HILLSDALE MAN FOR SEXUAL ABUSE
Hillsdale, NY- Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports that 38 year old Edyn R. Ortega-Lopez of 2627 State Route 23 Hillsdale, NY has been arrested and charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class D Felony.
On April 4, 2018, Sheriff’s Deputies received a report that two victims under the age of thirteen were victims of a sexual abuse. An investigation was initiated by Deputy David Stevens, Senior Investigator Mark Dunspaugh, and Investigator Ian Boehme which revealed that the victims were subjected to sexual contact. The abuse was reported to have occurred on different occasions beginning in 2012 and ending in 2017.
On April 11, 2018 at approximately 11:25am, Edyn R. Ortega-Lopez was arrested and charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree. He was arraigned in Hillsdale Town Court before Judge Immarigeon and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear back in court on June 20, 2018 at 6:00pm.
