Narcan saves another life in Hudson

Press Release – Another Overdose Victim Revived by HPD /Greenport Rescue

On Wednesday, April 19, 2018 at around 8:12am, the Hudson Police Department cross monitored a Columbia County 911 dispatch for an unresponsive male, a possible overdose victim. Patrol units were dispatched to the High Rise to assist.

Officer Hodges arrived at the apartment and located a 23 year old male victim on the dining room floor. The male victim was unresponsive and was hardly breathing when Patrol Units arrived on scene. Officer Hodges with the assistance of Sgt. Dean Rowe and Officer Montross administered several doses of NARCAN to the victim.

Greenport Rescue Squad was on the scene a short time later and rendered additional aid and another dose of NARCAN was given to the victim. After some time, the male subject began to respond. The victim was transported to the Columbia Memorial Hospital for further medical treatment.
