Burglary report leads to arrest of Hudson man

Attempted Burglary

On Monday May 13, 2018, the Hudson City Police Department arrested 28 year old, Matthew P. Donovan of Hudson, New York for Attempted Burglary 3nd Degree, a class E Felony and Possession of Burglar Tools, a class A misdemeanor.

On May 13, 2018, at approximately 1:54 am, the Hudson Police Department received a call reporting that a white male wearing a black hoodie was attempting to break into the rear door of the Nolita Bakery Café, located at 454 Warren Street Hudson New York.

The City of Hudson Police responded immediately to the reported burglary in progress call. Once at the scene, Officers witnessed the suspect Matthew P. Donovan, wearing rubber gloves, still attempting to gain entry inside the restaurant with a knife. He was taken into custody without incident.

Matthew P. Donovan was arraigned before Judge Connor and he was remanded to the Columbia County Jail on $7500.00 cash / $15,000.00 bond. He was due in Hudson City Court on May 15, 2018 at 830am. Court was rescheduled for May 22, 2018 at 830am.
