Burglary/Grand Larceny Arrest

On September 7, 2017, the Hudson City Police Department arrested 32 year old, Michael A. Planthaber of Hillsdale, New York for Burglary 2nd Degree, a class C Felony, Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, class D Felony and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, a class a misdemeanor.

On August 20, 2017 the Hudson Police Department received a transferred Columbia County 911 call from a Hudson resident who lives on the 400 block of Warren Street. The victim reported to Police that his apartment was broken into and a large amount of cash was stolen from his safe. The victim told police on the night of August 19, 2017, prior to him coming home from work, somebody had broken into his apartment and had stolen his property. The Hudson Police responded to the scene and the Detective Division processed the apartment for evidence. It appeared that the suspect had gained access inside the residence by smashing in the front apartment door window. The suspect then located a safe that appears to have been left open, and did steal $3400.00 in cash. No one was home during the break- in and there were no injuries.

Planthaber was arraigned before Cityof Hudson Judge Brian Herman and he was remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail. He will appear in the Columbia County Court on a later date.

“This was super work by our Detectives, who gathered leads and conducted productive interviews. I believe we have prepared a very good case for the prosecution.” Chief Moore
