ARREST MADE IN SECOND STREET SHOOTING
A 22-year-old Albany man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting that occurred last month on Second Street.
Di-Quann Powell was arrest following an investigation by members of the Albany Police Department. He was taken into custody with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force.
On Monday, April 2, 2018 at approximately 5:40 p.m., Powell fired several shots at a man on the 200 block of Second Street, striking the man in his arm, back and upper leg.
The victim, age 26, was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Powell has been charged with Attempted Murder 2nd and Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st.
Powell was also charged in connection with an incident that occurred on February 11, 2018 on the 600 block of Clinton Avenue. During this incident, Powell pointed a black colored handgun at a woman during an altercation.
He was charged with one count of Menacing 2nd for his role in this incident.
Powell was arraigned in the Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
Powell has previously been arrested for robbery, assault and possession of controlled substances in the City of Albany, City of Hudson and City of Troy.
Powell was shot on North 5th Street in Hudson last September 14th. Since the shooting, he's been in Columbia County Court facing several charges. He's accused of breaking a Hudson Police Officer's foot, during an altercation last June. At the Time of the September 14th shooting, his address was listed as North 2nd Street in Hudson.
