Prison employee, charged in Hudson with 20 felonies

State Corrections employee arrested for stealing department funds

Hudson, New York – 

On May 29, 2018, the New York State Police from the Livingston barracks in cooperation with the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations, and the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office arrested Maria C. Fey, age 49, of Leyden, New York, for Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, eighteen (18) counts of Forgery in the 2nd degree, all class D felonies, and Falsifying Business Records in the 1st degree, a class E felony.

The New York State DOCCS OSI reported the possible forgery, and theft of funds from a State Corrections bank account to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Livingston on May 14, 2018. 

Investigation found that Fey, an employee of the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, stole in excess of $3,000 from accounts owned by State Corrections.

Fey was arraigned before the city of Hudson Court, and released on her own recognizance.  Fey is next scheduled to appear before the Court on May 31, 2018, at 8:30 a.m.
