Woman charged in Chatham animal cruelty case

State Police report, that on May 11th they were called to a residence on Locust Street in Chatham, for animals reported in an apartment, and the owner was not seen for an extended period.

An investigation found multiple cats living in an apartment without food or water. Additionally, two dead kittens were found frozen a a freezer.

25 year old Gabrielle Monkash was arrested on May 30th for Ag/Markets law on four counts of Torture/Injure/Not feed an animal. and abandonment of animals.

She is scheduled to appear in Village of Chatham Court June 6th at 6pm.

Meanwhile, one of the cats is at Columbia Greene Humane Society, and available for adoption. The cat was named CUSACK, after the Trooper that found her. Pictured below.
