Juvenile from Berkshire Farm Center arrested for stealing vehicle

New Lebanon, New York –
On June 22, 2018, the New York State Police from the New Lebanon barracks arrested a 15-year-old juvenile, of Canaan, NY, for Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd degree, both class D felonies.
On June 22, 2018, at approximately 4:10 a.m., Troopers attempted to conduct a vehicle and traffic stop on a 2018 Volkswagen Golf for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. The vehicle fled into Massachusetts, but was positively identified as stolen from New Lebanon.
Investigation identified the juvenile suspect, who was also reported missing from Berkshire Farms Center. Continued investigation located both the suspect and the stolen vehicle.
The 15-year-old was returned to the supervision of Berkshire Farms staff, and issued a juvenile appearance ticket returnable to the Columbia County Family Court on June 26, 2018, at 10:00 a.m.
