Multiple fire and rescue units, dive teams, and police agencies were called to the Catskill Creek Wednesday afternoon, for reports of a man under water. The original incident was reported between the Route 23 and Thruway overpass bridges.
Rescuers got the man out of the water, but he went into cardiac arrest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Were told the man was 18 year old Nay Htoo from the Albany area, who was swimming with friends when he went under.
Due to the terrain in the area of the drowning, his body was not removed for over three hours.
We'll have more on the story as it develops.
