SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARREST HUDSON WOMAN ON LARCENY CHARGES
Sheriff David P. Bartlett reports that a month long investigation into missing monies from an employee based club/account at the Columbia County Department of Social Services, has concluded with the arrest of a Hudson woman.
Officials from the Columbia County Department of Social Services contacted the Sheriff’s Office at the beginning of June to report they have discovered that an employee based club known as the Sunshine Club, was missing funds from its account. The Sunshine Club is entirely an employee run and funded club that uses its funds for various employee events. No monies from Columbia County have gone in or out of the account of the club.
The investigation, which included an audit of the club account, revealed that more than $1,000.00 dollars has been stolen from the club.On July 6th, 2018 at approximately 1:00pm investigators arrested and charged Pamela A. Hallenbeck of Hudson, New York in connection with the larceny from the club. She has been charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree which is a Class E Felony. Ms. Hallenbeck was the treasurer for the Sunshine Club and is an employee of the Columbia County Department of Social Services.
She was placed on administrative leave from the Department of Social Services at the start of the investigation.Ms. Hallenbeck was arraigned in the Town of Claverack court by the Honorable Judge Michael Brandon and released after posting bail for a later court date. Greene County District Attorney Joseph Stanzione and his office assisted with the investigation.
