Storm damage closes Route 23A

Route 23A Reopens to Alternating One-Way Traffic between White and Wingate Roads in Hunter, Greene County

 

Motorists are advised that Route 23A has reopened and is now operating with alternating one-way traffic at the site of an eroded slope between White Road and Wingate Road in the Town of Hunter, Greene County. A temporary signal system has been placed at the site to maintain this one-way traffic operation 24 hours a day until repairs are completed.

 

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.

Route 23A Closed between White and Wingate Roads in Hunter, Greene County

Motorists are advised that Route 23A is closed to all traffic between White Road and Wingate Road in the Town of Hunter, Greene County. Motorists are being directed to a signed detour route using State Routes 296, 23 and 32.

The closure is due to a short section of eroded slope beneath the roadway. The damage will be assessed and repaired as expeditiously as possible.
