Woman who was hit by car in Hudson, being treated at Albany Med

Press Release – Car-Pedestrian Accident

On Wednesday August 29 at 7:34pm County 911 received a report of a car/pedestrian accident at 29 Glenwood Boulevard. HPD officers responded to find 85 year old Hudson resident, Louise Ryder with a head and leg injury. She was transported by Greenport Rescue Squad to Albany Medical Center, where she was admitted. The driver of the car, a 2012 Nissan, was westbound on Glenwood Boulevard when he struck Mrs. Ryder as she was walking in the roadway. The initial investigation indicates that the driver, Ricardo Wise, age 63, of Hudson was traveling at or below the posted speed limit of 30 miles per hour.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene and assisted with the investigation.

Mrs. Ryder is expected to recover and return home. No tickets were issued, and the matter is still under investigation.
