Katerskill falls rescue takes 2 1/2 hours

Town of HunterGreene CountyRescue: 

On Sept. 2 around 5 p.m., a 25-year-old female fell on loose rocks while hiking in the area of Kaaterskill Falls. The subject was found by an assistant Forest Ranger working that area. 

The subject stated she had strained her lower right leg and was unable to bear weight. Forest Rangers and assistant Forest Rangers carried the subject out of woods to the Kaaterskill Falls trailhead. 

The woman declined further assistance and staff were clear by 7:30 p.m.
