Unconditional Discharge in case involving Red Hook Police Officer

Last Friday, after receiving arrest information from State Police about the arrest of a Red Hook Police Officer in Columbia county, we posted this story:

State Police at Livingston arrested a Red Hook Police officer on Thursday. 38 year old Patrick Hildenbrand of Germantown was charged with Felony Eavesdropping.

The incident was reported June 16th in the town of Clermont. He was released pending a court appearance.


Today, we received a press release from the Columbia County D.A.'s office, explaining what took place in court:

D.A. CZAJKA ANNOUNCES CONVICTION

On September 20, 2018, Patrick Hildenbrand, age 39, of Clermont, was convicted by plea of Possession of Eavesdropping Devices, a class A Misdemeanor, in Clermont Town Court,

Honorable Richard Christensen presiding. The defendant committed the crime in the Town of Clermont. Upon his conviction, the Court sentenced him to an Unconditional Discharge.

The New York State Police investigated (Sr. Inv. Eric Barnes and Inv. Matthew Reilly) this matter and arrested Patrick Hildenbrand. Steven Patterson, Esq., of Pine Plains represents Hildenbrand.
